How to Request Website Changes
Fastest path: comment directly on the page using Markup so we can see the exact spot. If you prefer email, it works when your request is specific.
The Rule
Clear Requests Get Fast Fixes
If we can see exactly what you mean, we can update it quickly. If we have to guess, your request slows down and creates unnecessary back-and-forth.
Best Practice
One request per comment or numbered item
It keeps approvals clean, makes work easier to track, and prevents missed details.
Pick the Method You Will Actually Use
Markup is faster because we see the exact page and the exact spot. Email is fine when you include the page link, the section, and the replacement text.
Scope changes: if a request adds new sections, pages, or functionality, label it as a scope change so we can quote it properly.
Option A
Request Changes Using Markup (Fastest)
This is the cleanest way to request revisions, because your feedback is attached to the exact location on the page.
- 1 Open Your Markup LinkUse the Markup link we sent for your website or project. If you do not have one, request it.
- 2 Click the Exact SpotPlace your comment where the change should happen. The pin shows us the exact location.
- 3 Provide the ReplacementPaste the exact new text, link the asset, or describe the change clearly. No guessing needed.
- 4 Group Comments Into a RoundAdd all comments, then tell us “Round 1 complete” so we know to start working.
- 5 Review and ApproveOnce updates are done, confirm the round is complete or add follow-up items for the next round.
- We Implement and ConfirmWe complete the work and reply with status and any questions. Then repeat as needed.
- Change:Replace headline with “Get More Calls in Troy, MI”
- Where:Homepage hero section (pinned to the exact spot)
- Why (optional):Better matches the primary offer and target audience
- Asset (if needed):Attach the new image or link it in a shared folder
Option B
Request Changes by Email
Email works when it is specific. Vague requests force extra clarification and slow delivery.
Email Format (Copy and Paste)
Subject: Revision Request: [Page Name] | Round [#]
Page URL: [paste link]
Section: [hero / services / pricing / footer]
Change requested: [one sentence]
Replacement copy (if applicable):
[paste exact text]
Assets:
[attach files or paste links]
Priority: [normal / urgent]
Deadline (if any): [date]
Send to: [email protected]
What to Include So We Can Move Fast
- Exact Page Link Do not say “the home page.” Paste the full URL so there is no confusion.
- Exact Section Hero, services, testimonials, or footer. A screenshot with the area circled helps.
- Exact Replacement Copy Paste the new text exactly as you want it to appear. We implement what you send.
- Assets Attached or Linked Images, logos, PDFs, videos, and anything else needed to publish the update.
Multiple changes in one email? That is fine. Number them. Keep each item to one change, one location, one replacement.
Support Expectations
SLA and Turnaround Guidelines
Your support plan defines the exact SLA. These guidelines explain how requests are prioritized and why clear inputs speed everything up.
- Copy edits, small layout tweaks, and swapping images you provide
- Minor SEO adjustments (titles, meta descriptions, internal links) when content is provided
- Basic form edits (field labels, required flags, confirmation text)
- New pages, new sections, new funnels, or new templates
- New functionality, custom development, integrations, or automation work
- Major rewrites without source copy or direction
Priority Levels
- Normal Standard Requests Most updates fall here. Completed in your plan’s standard window (typically 2 to 3 business days).
- Urgent Time-Sensitive Issues Broken CTA, incorrect pricing, or a form that is not working. Typically same-day or next business day.
- Emergency Critical Incidents Site down, checkout broken, or a security incident. Use your emergency contact route for immediate response.
Pro tip: if you need a same-day turnaround, include a real deadline and confirm the request is fully scoped with assets included. Incomplete requests cannot be fast-tracked.
FAQ
Common Questions
Quick answers that prevent delays.
Why is Markup faster than email?
Because your comment is pinned to the exact spot on the page. That reduces interpretation, prevents miscommunication, and speeds implementation. We see what you see.
What is the most common reason revisions get delayed?
Missing inputs: no URL, no section, no replacement copy, or assets not provided. If we have everything up front, we move quickly. If we have to ask clarifying questions, that adds days.
Can I send multiple changes at once?
Yes. Number them and keep each item to one change. For Markup, use one request per comment. For email, a numbered list per page is ideal. This keeps tracking clean and prevents missed items.
How do I request an urgent fix?
Mark it as urgent, include the URL, explain the impact (for example, “form submissions failing”), and include the exact replacement content if needed. If it is an outage or security issue, use your emergency route.
What if I do not have a Markup link?
Email us or use the contact form to request one. We will set it up for your project and send instructions. It takes about five minutes to get started.
Want Revisions Done With Minimal Back-and-Forth?
Use Markup. Click the page. Leave clear comments. One request per comment. We will handle the rest.
- Clear request
- Fast turnaround
- No guessing
